  Information
The glories of Africa are well-documented but only those who actually travel there can stand under the wide, sheltering skies and feel the warm red earth beneath their feet. Africa is tranquility and adventure, mighty waters and arid desert, nostalgia and modernity. A land of exciting contrasts and breathtaking beauty lies waiting to be explored. As Africa specialists we bring you the very best of Africa - the most stylish of hotels, the most charming and luxurious of lodges, authentic camps and wonderful game viewing. We know how hard it is to discriminate between the vast numbers of places on offer. Our years of experience in Africa have allowed us to select only the very best from which you may make your choice in confidence.
  What to Select
You may either select from our list of discerning Suggested Journeys or plan your own luxury journeys by selecting the hotels, lodges and camps that are most suitable for you. We have provided the description and  pictures of the very best. Our "Africa Luxury Journeys" pages have all the information on each deluxe lodge along with color photographs of each property. Please note that our selection of properties for Luxury Journeys is not based solely on 5 star or 5 star deluxe ratings. We also take into account the service and activities on offer, the game viewing, the privacy and the uniqueness of the surroundings, the host, quality of food and much more.
  Plan "your Own" Journey
When planning your own luxury journey please remember that it may be necessary to spend a minimum of one night in the city of your first arrival before embarking on your luxury journey and a minimum of one night in the city before your last departure. We will recommend you the best options as soon as you let us know of your plans. We recommend that you spend a minimum of 2 nights at each place in order to fully appreciate the flora, fauna, landscape and the hospitality of the hosts. You will also feel more relaxed and less rushed. We also recommend that you travel to a maximum of three countries per trip (ideally one or two). This will allow you to appreciate each country more and make your journey more comfortable.

For Luxury journeys, transfers between hotels / lodges / camps will be mainly by scheduled or chartered air services. 4x4 vehicles may be used for shorter distances or whenever air transport is prohibitively expensive or is not feasible due to non-availability, bad weather or circumstances beyond our control. Some journeys such as luxury mobile camps or special adventure journeys will mostly use 4x4 vehicles. The cost of air transport is higher than road transport but the client will avoid the grueling road journeys and arrive at the destination significantly quicker and more relaxed. Please do not forget to read our Country information, General Information and Terms & Conditions. Adequate liability, medical and trip cancellation insurance is essential before you can begin your journey. Clients partaking in hazardous activities (For example, trekking, walking safaris, canoe trips, white water rafting, horse back safaris, bunji jumping, balloon rides, etc.) may be asked to sign an indemnity form before the activities commence.
