  Information

Welcome to Antarctica
. Antarctica is said to be the coldest, driest, and windiest place on earth, but that does not describe its attractions as a tourist destination. Antarctica and the Sub-Antarctic Islands are some of the last truly unspoilt regions of the world. The mysterious White Continent, with its multi-colored ice caps, glistening glaciers and towering snow-capped mountains, offers unparalleled scenery and photographic opportunities. Join us on one of three exciting programs of voyages to the "White Continent".

Explore Antarctica
Our program of Explore Antarctica voyages onboard our adventure fleet focus on a region of Antarctica that is rarely ice-bound during the southern summer. They visit the South Shetland Islands, the northern and western coasts of the Antarctic Peninsula, the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) and South Georgia. All vessels operating these adventure cruises have been especially selected and their ice-strengthened hulls, as well as their sophisticated communications and satellite equipment, make them extremely safe modes of transport in this remote corner of the world! All voyages are designed to include as much wildlife viewing as possible but may also incorporate visits to scientific bases as well as allowing plenty of time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of icy waterways, glaciers, icebergs and rugged mountains.

Our Classic Antarctica adventure cruises offer the ultimate introduction to the White Continent. Embarking and disembarking in the port of Ushuaia, Argentina, they include many of the wildlife and scenic highlights of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands.

Our longer Explorers' Cruises combine the adventure cruises of Classic Antarctica with visits to the Falkland Islands and South Georgia. Depending on the itinerary, the Explorers¼ Cruises embark and disembark in the ports of Ushuaia or Puerto Madryn in Argentina or Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands.

There are also more unusual programs such as the Classic Antarctica Adventure with SCUBA-diving, sea-kayaking and camping options, or a fabulous voyage traveling the length and breadth of the stunning Falkland Islands.

Ultimate Antarctica
Our journeys occur at the peak of the summer wildlife season. Bathed in long hours of daylight, the area will be erupting with wildlife activity. Millions of penguins gather to tend their fast-growing chicks; whales are seen in great numbers, seals haul out onto ice floes and beaches, and numerous albatrosses and other seabirds trail in our wake. We explore historic sites from the Heroic Age of early Antarctic exploration and visit scientists working in modern research bases. And there is plenty of time to enjoy the sheer beauty and the breathtaking scenery of ice-choked waterways, blue and white icebergs, impressive glaciers and rugged snow-capped mountains. Join us on one of four ultimate voyages onboard one of the world's greatest icebreakers, the Kapitan Khlebnikov.

We will visit the Far Side of Antarctica to experience a total eclipse of the sun, Emperor Penguin rookeries set in spectacular backdrops of icebergs and glaciers, and the famous Ross Sea - the most historically fascinating part of Antarctic. The Kapitan Khlebnikov is the only passenger ship ever to sail in some of these regions so we will be among a fortunate few to have experienced this remote and challenging side of the continent

"The Great Explorers" In the wake of Shackleton and Scott' we sail to the Ross Sea, the most historically fascinating part of Antarctica. Only a handful of expedition vessels have ever traversed this superb region and we plan to sail as far south as McMurdo Sound.
