Cruise: Kimberley Wilderness (Broome to Wyndam) 12D/11N

True NorthA wild and beautiful panorama of rugged mountains, spectacular gorges and majestic waterfalls. Unexplained rock-art, extraordinary wildlife and monster barramundi. Join the renowned crew of the True North on a voyage of discovery where you will encounter a vast and remarkable coastline featuring sociable marine mammals, mutineers, island paradise and colossal sharks! The True North allows discerning adventures to experience wilderness in surroundings more akin to one of the world’s most exclusive hotels! Passengers are able to take advantage of a number of lavish vantage points including a sundeck, a forward observation lounge, a ship’s lounge and an alfresco bar. The ship’s naturalist presents interpretative information on plasma screens and, an internet café enables convenient communication with the outside world. A popular venue on any North Star cruise, the lower deck dining room offers the ultimate in comfort and uninterrupted vista - large panoramic windows ensure that passengers never miss any of the action, even when they are enjoying the ‘finest in fine dining’. A guest limit of 36 and an Australian crew of 20 ensure the personal service that North Star is famous for and, six expedition vessels allow guests to experience wilderness up close and in small groups. The luxury of numerous tenders also means that different activities can be accommodated simultaneously providing greater opportunity for everybody onboard to do “what they want, when they want”! And, to add yet another dimension to adventure, the True North is the only Kimberley cruise ship that sails with her very own helicopter! Carrying guests in air-conditioned comfort, the ship’s helicopter provides unique opportunity to witness grandeur; unique opportunity to fish billabongs that have never been fished; unique opportunity to discover your very own wilderness!

ACCOMMODATIONS: Cabins are very spacious and feature modern décor, large en-suites, satellite telephones and in-cabin entertainment. The Explorer Class Staterooms and the River Class doubles have king size doubles that can be converted to singles and large viewing windows. The Ocean Class twins feature roomy single beds. Fine dining is also featured onboard the True North. Signature meals include freshly caught barramundi - a revered sport fish possibly caught with your very own hands! Giant black-lip oysters (which you almost certainly helped to collect!) served to your liking. Our ‘heli-picnics’ are an unforgettable way to enjoy a wide variety of seafood including shrimp, squid, baked fish, pearl meat and smoked salmon. For those who prefer, there are also plenty of meat dishes including the famous “Kimberley Rib” and exquisite lamb racks. And, fresh vegetables and garden salads are never in short supply!
