Designed by Chile’s leading creative talent, it counts with 32 rooms and a 500 square meter spa and offers a wide choice of therapies. 30 varied excursions are available.

San Pedro de Atacama is known as the “Archaeological Capital of Chile” because it is the location where Father Gustavo la Paige, a Belgian priest and archaeologist, discovered the first mummies and built an excellent museum which preserves more than 300,000 pieces from the Atacama culture. This small and picturesque village provides infrastructure and services for tourists who learn desire to learn abou the Atacamanean culture.

  • Overland Half-day: viewpoints in the Atacama (Kari, Death Valley, Moon Valley), Chuquicamata Mine and the village of Chiu CHiu, Atacama Salt Flat (Chaxsa Lagoon Flamingo Reserve).
  • Overland Full-day: Altiplanic Lagoons (Villages of Toconao & Socaire, Miscanti Lagoon), Salar de Tara, El Tatio Geysers, Guatin/Machuca/Puritama.
  • Archaeology Half-day: Padre Le Paige Museum/Quitor Fortress / Tulor Village, Río Grande Petroglyphs, Río Salado Petroglyphs.
  • Walks and hikes Half-day: Cornices, Kari Gorge, Ruins of Catarpe / Pukara Vilama (Vilama Fortress), Guatin and the Inca Trail, Guatin/Puritama, Moon Valley, Río Frío / Puritama.
  • Walks and hikes Full-day: Machuca/Rio Grande, Jerez Valley, and Nacimiento Canyon.
  • Bicycle rides Half-day: Devils Canyon / Catarpe, Cejar Lagoons, Windy Lookout Point (Death Valley, the Dune), Bike Ride through the Ayllus (Atacamenian Communities).
  • Special interest tours Full-day: Toco Volcano, Lascar Volcano, Rock Climbing in Nacimiento Gully (Socaire), Bird Watching the Altiplano, Flora & Fauna of the Altiplano and gullies of Atacama.

Notes:

  • Temperatures in San Pedro vary depending on the time of day and the altitude - it is recommemded to wear layers, with a warm jacket or fleece for colder nights.
  • Dress code is casual; shorts, swimsuit, sunscreen, and sunglasses are a must.
  • Comfortable walking shoes are needed for hikes.

  • DAY 01 SANTIAGO - Reception at airport and transfer to hotel in Santiago Accommodation in hotel in Santiago.
  • DAY 02 SANTIAGO / CALAMA / SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - At agreed time, transfer to airport to match flight to Calama. Arrival to Calama. Reception and transfer to Hotel Alto Atacama in San Pedro de Atacama. 3 night’s accommodation. Full day or half day tour to be chosen from the excursions menu. (B,D)
  • DAY 03 - 05 SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - Choose from a menu of excursions that will make you enjoy this amazing landscape, such as salt flats, geysers, and old Atacamenian Villages. These tours can be done by car, bicycle, or hikes, always guided by an expert. (B,L,D)
  • DAY 06 SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA / CALAMA / SANTIAGO - Full day or half day tour to be chosen from the excursions menu, depending on your departure flight. Transfer to the Calama Airport. Reception at airport in Santiago and transfer to hotel. Accommodation in hotel Santiago. (B,L)
  • DAY 07 SANTIAGO - At agreed time, transfer to airport for departure flight. (B)
