Island Hopping In Southern Dalmatia - 11D/10N

Dubrovnik is a beautiful city, a veritable “jewel of the Adriatic” with a long maritime history. Founded in one of the most favorable geographical position at the entrance to the Adriatic Sea and protected by islands, Dubrovnik took advantage of the intensified traffic between the East and the West during and after the Crusades in the 12th and 13th centuries and finally conquered its freedom from the Venetian Republic in the 14th century.

Croatia has an amazing 5,835km of coastline, 4,057km of which belongs to islands, cliffs and reefs. There are 1,185 islands in the Adriatic, but only about 70 are populated. The largest island is Krk (near Rijeka) at 462 square km. Thanks to this favorable geographical characteristics of the coast, with its numerous bays, inlets and coves, the coastal belt still is a significant mercantile and nautical route.   • Day 1 Arrival In Dubrovnik - Welcome to Croatia! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
  • Day 2 Dubrovnik - After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of this beautiful city, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site with your private local guide. Surrounded by ramparts and fortresses, this ancient town is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural masterpieces, carefully preserved over the centuries. Take a pleasant walk to the Rector’s Palace, the Franciscan Monastery with its 14th century Pharmacy, as well as to the other places of interest. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)
  • Day 3 Dubrovnik To Korčula - After breakfast, you will be transferred to the pier in Dubrovnik to embark on the ferry to Korčula. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your selected hotel in Korčula. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)
  • Day 4 Korčula - Korcula has a legendary past, deemed by many as Marko Polo birthplace and before that as home to one of the Homeric heroes: this quaint island offers secluded little bays where to hide away, unspoilt natural beauties and small towns of red-roofed houses. Enjoy exploring it on your own, or take part on one of the optional excursions available. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
  • Day 5 Korčula - All day at disposal to carry on own personal activities or take part on one of the optional excursions available. (B)
  • Day 6 Korčula To Hvar - After breakfast, you will be transferred to the pier in Vela Luka to embark on the catamaran to Hvar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your selected hotel in Hvar. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)
  • Day 7 Hvar - Sunny Hvar, as the slogan reads, is characterised by gentle winters, warm summers and many hours of sunshine: see how the lavender fields and the vineyards stripe the bare Mediterranean landscape, descending gradually from black pine woods to white stoned bays. Enjoy the day at leisure, explore it on your own, or take part on one of optional excursions available. (B)
  • Day 8 Hvar - All day at disposal to carry on own personal activities or take part on one of the optional excursions available. (B)
  • Day 9 Hvar To Split - After breakfast, you will be transferred to the pier in Hvar to embark on the catamaran which will take you back to the mainland, to Split. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your selected hotel in Split. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)
  • Day 10 Split - Split is the biggest city in Dalmatia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the rich cultural and monumental heritage of this 1,700-year old city on your own: view remnants of the city’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, and its contemporary attractions. You might also decide to join one of the optional tours available, since there are many beautiful towns, picturesque villages and islands around Split that are worth paying a visit to. (B)
  • Day 11 Depart Split - After breakfast, you will be transferred to Split airport to meet your homebound flight.
