Marvels of Patagonia - 4D/3N
South of the South, where silence reigns, is the majestic landscape of Chilean Patagonia. Patagonia is a region of vast steppe-like plains, rising in a succession of abrupt terraces about 100 meters at a time, covered with an enormous bed of almost bare vegitation. In the hollows of the plains are ponds or lakes.
Torres del Paine National Park encompasses mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers in southern Chile. The Cordillera del Paine is the centerpiece of the park. It lies in a transition area between the Magellanic subpolar forests and the Patagonian Steppes. Lady Florence Dixie and her traveling party were the first tourists to visit the area of the current national park in 1880. The park was established in 1959 as Parque Nacional de Turismo Lago Grey and it was given its present name in 1970. The park was designated as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978.

Penguins Colony in Seno Otway (January to March), visit to Milodon Cave, Torres del paine National Park entrance fees and ticket for sailing in Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. Itinerary
- DAY 01 PUNTA ARENAS-PUERTO NATALES - Reception at the airport in Punta Arenas and transfer to Puerto Natales. Arrival to Puerto Natales. Accommodation in hotel un Puerto Natales. (D)
- DAY 02 PUERTO NATALES-SERRANO AND BALMACEDA GLACIERS-PUERTO NATALES - Sailing across Last Hope sound towards the glaciers Balmaceda and Serrano. There will be a short hike after disembarking, to get closer to Serrano glacier and admire this ice mass. Return to Puerto Natales. In the
afternoon there will be a tour around the city, visiting Bories, which used to be the place where cold-stores were built and shepherding and shearing of sheep took place. This area is an important part of Chile’s southern extreme‘s history. Lodging. (B,L,D) - DAY 03 PUERTO NATALES-TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK-PUERTO NATALES - Departure from the hotel to Cueva del Milodón, a cave that contains the remains of a big herbivore animal. This animal (Milodón) lived nearly 12.000 years ago. The trip will allow us o see the varied local fauna, such as guanacos, foxes, chingues, caiquenes, flamencos and condors. Arrival to Torres del Paine National Park, where we will witness one of the most beautiful geological formations of the Southern Hemisphere, passing by the lakes Sarmiento, Nordenskold and Pehoé, getting a fantastic view of Mount Almirante Nieto, and the Mountain mass and horns of Paine, one of the most important attractions of the park. Arrival to the hotel, where travellers can delight in the sights of Grey Glacier and its floating icebergs. Return to Puerto Natales. Lodging. (B,L,D)
- DAY 04 PTO NATALES-PUNTA ARENAS - Transfer from Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas, ending at the airport or hotel.
