A voyage during which you immerse yourself in paradise. A 22 day /21 night cruise itinerary

Highlights

Honolulu/Oahu/Hawaii - Relaxed days on Kauai - Hawaii’s “Garden Island”* can be your atmospheric pre cruise programme before your cruise sails from Honolulu.

Lahaina/Maui/Hawaii - The “Magic Island” is a volcanic paradise in the Pacific. The water is teeming with colourful tropical fish, flowers spread their bewitching fragrance, dreamlike beaches stretch along the beautiful coast. And creation holds even more in readiness: the Haleakala Crater* offers a gaudy, shimmering spectacle of lava at an altitude of more than 9,900 feet. Yet another thrill is the view of the Iao Needle, which rises 1,300 feet in the green Iao Valley. A very special natural spectacle takes place off the coast: the humpback whales use the peaceful, warm waters off of Maui to raise their young in spring. Don’t miss out on a meeting with the impressive giants when the boat casts off from the Maui Ocean Center to go whale-watching*. Circling above a waterfall in a helicopter* is another delight offered by a flight over West Maui and the tiny island of Molokai.

Hilo/Big Island/Hawaii - The picturesque parks in the bay of Hilo, the well-preserved Old Town, the proximity to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park - there are any number of good reasons for spending a wonderful day on Big Island. Rainbow Falls is one of them, falling 100 feet into the abyss and producing a rainbow in its veil of mist. A magic spell of nature which you can experience here.

Tabuaeran (Fanning Island)/Kiribati - The coral atoll gently rises from the water, welcoming you to South Seas happiness, pure and simple. One of the most beautiful islands of Kiribati is lined with white sandy beaches and coconut palms and offers fantastic opportunities for bathing and snorkelling.

Nukunonu/Tokelau - Heavenly remoteness has a name: Nukunonu, a virtually uninhabited atoll whose snowy-white beaches invite visitors to spend some wonderfully relaxing time.

ÃŽles de Horn/Wallis and Futuna - The contemplative French overseas territory is the perfect place to become acquainted with the native way of life on a South Seas island. Local transportation travels to Lavae or Poi, to the Pierre Chanel Church, which is large enough for several hundred faithful. But perhaps you will simply stay on the beach and forget the rest of the world while listening to the sound of the South Seas.

Fulanga Island/Fiji - An uninhabited dream of an island with turquoise water, white shell beaches and an underwater world filled with colour. Enjoy hours which will touch your heart.

Kabara Island/Fiji - “Loloma”, hospitality, is sacred to the Fiji Islanders. They welcome travellers to their small island with a cordial “Balu”, display their traditional woodcarving and share their homeland with their guests for several hours.

Suva/Fiji - The proud island capital is full of hustle and bustle; after all, it is the largest metropolis in the South Seas. You can gain some idea of how people used to live on Viti Levu at the Fiji Museum* and in Pacific Harbour*, a well-groomed holiday town with a very special attraction: nine artificial islands built in old Fiji style. A further highlight of the day is waiting outside the harbour of Suva: boats will take you along the fascinating coral world to go swimming and sunbathing on Nukulau*.

Port Vila/Vanuatu - The happiest people in the world live here. It comes as no surprise that the capital is one of the most beautiful cities in the South Pacific or that such magical spots as the Mele Cascades Waterfall* are found here. Gain insights into the cultural heritage* of the archipelago in the village Jarofa.

MS Europa itinerary map courtesy of Hapag Lloyd CruisesNouméa/New Caledonia - French savoir vivre characterises the capital of the overseas colony, and the Petit Train* is a convenient way to explore the sights. The white Amedee Lighthouse* came to the small island off the coast from Paris in 1865 and could not have found a more beautiful spot to do its work. White sandy beaches along a crystal-clear blue lagoon, tropical fish in an untouched underwater world, a coral reef where you can see reef sharks, dolphins or manta rays - hours of unique experiences await you here.

ÃŽle des Pins/New Caledonia - Why would you call an island the “Jewel of the Pacific”? You will understand perfectly as soon as the small island comes into sight ahead of the EUROPA. Once a penal colony, the island is today full of bliss, with turquoise lagoons whose clear water rolls in gentle waves onto white sandy beaches. Spend the day in the shade of a pine tree, or explore the magnificent landscape of the island* where the remains of settlements 4,000 years old have been found. Or do something completely different and give yourself up to a life of luxury and beach in the Hotel Le Meridian.

Cairns/Australia - Pulsating Cairns is not far from the Great Barrier Reef. After spending the night on board, you will return from here to Germany via Sydney. Unless, of course, you decide to book the post cruise programme Sydney - Dream City on the Water* and visit the world-famous opera house.
