From the lush habitats of Canada's west coast
rainforests to the colorful character of New England
and the Maritimes and the majesty of Alaska's
Northwest Passage, from the vast expanses of
America's Sun Belt to the wonder of Mexico's Copper
Canyon, North America is mostly natural wonders.
In the very north both Canada and Alaska attract visitors wanting to explore this wild northern frontier full of natural marvels and wilderness areas. In the middle we find the United States, a microcosm in its own right. Here, immigration from virtually everywhere has created a different population, arguably new and still struggling with both past and
present: from the obliteration of Native American cultures and slave trading to racism, imperialism and fundamentalism. But, the very same population has also expanded on such concepts as free speech, free trade and pursuit of happiness creating one of the most mechanized and
modern countries in the world. This makes the USA a destination both complex and
fascinating
to explore and discover, especially in its less popular places, where you find a country
of which you were unaware, sometimes quite alien.
To the south is Mexico, blending together so many different facets to become a veritable cultural kaleidoscopic mix of Aztec and Conquistadores, glitzy beaches and lonely Mayan ruins, crowded Mexico City streets and Copper Canyon 's splendid loneliness. All these separate identities have made the country a traveler's paradise and attractive to any visitor. |
