Top Altiplano Highlights - 5D/4N
For the first time, two different Andes Wonders can be seen in one short adventure program, combining “Titicaca Sacred Lake & Uyuni Salt Lake”. You first get acclimatized at Lake Titicaca with a medium effort trek and then continue to the “out of this world” Uyuni Salt Flats, a challenge for audacious travelers. A deluxe camping, full equipped Land Rovers and a Cordon Bleu Chef will reward your unmatched adventure.
Late Titicaca is considered the highest navigabale lake in the world and forms a natural boundary between Bolivia and Peru. The inhabitants are mostly Aymara and Quchua Indians. Cocacaban is a tiny resort town on the shores. The Isles of the Sun and Moon are the two largest islands on the lake. Isla del Sol has crystalline lagunas, white sandy beaches, and cliffs, while Isla de la Luna has the urins of a temple built in honor of “Mother Moon”. Legend tells that Manco Kapac and Mama Ocllo rose with staff in hand to found the capital of the Inca Empire at Cuzco. The Inca called Titicaca the “womb of the world”. Huatajata is an oasis of modern facilities on the still primitive Bolivian high-plateau. The harbor overlooks the lake and is surrounded by native adobe brick homes. The Tiwanacu Ruins are called “The Cradle of American Man” and once capital of a powerful civilization which flourished around 700 AD.
Uyuni is the departure point for tours to a region rich in landscapes, places of interest and natural wilderness areas. The Uyuni Salt Pans are the largest in the world, is a fantasy world of its own. It looks like an endless frozen lake or white expanse of desert, and is actually the evidence of a very ancient sea that existed here.
La Paz offers visitors a curious blend of its splendid tradition, local color and charm. Situated in a valley in the Cordillera de los Andes at an altitude of 11,100 feet, the city is protected from the cold winds that blow in the higher elevations. Tourists can be highly affected by the altitude and are advised to take everything at a slower pace than usual.

Itinerary:
- Day 1 Lake Titicaca - Bus transfer to Puno and Copacabana. Take a hydrofoil cruise to the Moon & Sun Islands. Lunch on the cruise. Overnight at the Posada del Inca.
- Day 2 Lake Titicaca - Lunch in Uma Kollo Restaurant. Hydrofoil cruise following to Copacabana. Bus transfer to Huatajata to visit the Andean Roots Eco-Village. Continue to La Paz.
- Day 3 La Paz to Uyuni - Take a private Land Rover transfer from La Paz to Uyuni via Jirira. Overnight luxury camping.
- Day 4 Uyuni - Fill day excursion to the Uyuni Salt Lake with its amazing panorama and Isla Pescado. Lunch on the Salt Lake. Return to La Paz in the late afternoon.
- Day 5 La Paz - Morning half day tour of the city and Moon Valley.
