A bike tour from Innsbruck, the capital of the Austrian part of Tyrol through the vineyards and fruit plantations of Southern Tyrol to Bolzano (Bozen) always along the river Adige (Etsch). Nearest Airports: Innsbruck, Munich.

TOUR PROFILE: Mostly flat, some uphill climbs; bike paths, side roads and field paths.  Level 2

Your Cycle Journey

Day 1    Innsbruck
Individual arrival. (Nearest Airports: Innsbruck, Munich)

Day 2    Innsbruck - Imst (approx. 65 km/41 miles)
Follow the river Inn to the beginning of the Ötztal-valley. Visit the monastery of Stams.

Day 3    Imst - Mals/Burgeis (approx. 60 km/38 miles)
Cycle to Landeck. Bustransfer to Nauders at the Passo di Resia (Reschenpass). Now you cycle downhill to your today´s destination. 

Day 4     Burgeis/Mals - Merano/surroundings (approx. 65 km/41 miles)
Enjoy the day´s stretch through vast fruit plantations and vineyards and the many castles along your way.

Day 5     Passeier valley - Merano/surroundings (approx. 40 km/25 miles)
Discover the surroundings of Merano and visit the birth place of Andreas Hofer (Tyrol´s liberation hero) in the Passeier valley.

Day 6     Merano/surroundings - Caldaro/Termeno (approx. 45/50 km; 28/31 miles)
Pass southern Tyrol´s most important vineyards, you proceed through Lana to Caldaro/Termeno. The lake Kalterer See, one of the warmest lakes in Europe, welcomes you.

Day 7     Caldaro/Termeno - Bolzano (approx. 35 km/22 miles)
Cycling along the river Adige you reach today´s destination, the city of Bolzano.

Day 8     Bolzano
