Travesía Explora - Crossing The Andes - 8D/7N

This journey goes through Paso Sico, from where the gorgeous Altiplanic lagoons are seen. Crossing the Andes, we will reach the highest point of this journey at 4.329 m. (around 14,000 feet) a.s.l., near El Laco. This trip then goes through Argentina, until arriving to Salta to enjoy your stay at a farm.

Hotels: 4 nights in Explora en Atacama (Vistas and Silencio Rooms) - 1 nights in Explora Camping - 2 Nights Estancia Rancagua.

Included: Transfer from the airport to the Explora Lodge located in Atacama - Hotel Explora Lodge – Full Board and open bar during the whole program - Dining room open until 21:00 - Bilingual guides – Transfer from Estancia Rancagua to Salta airport - Daily excursions including vehicles and meals during excursions.

Not Included: Any airfares - Passport and visa expenses - Any personal expenses and any items not specifically mentioned as included in the program.

Notes:
Season: All year round. Due to the climatic phenomenon known as “Bolivian Winter”, it is suggested to do this program from April to December 15th.

  • Day 1 Calama - San Pedro de Atacama - Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel Explora in San Pedro de Atacama. Depending on the arrival time, the tourists would be able to make some of the excursions proposed in the menu of excursions. Passengers arriving in flights after 09:00 PM will not be served dinner, but will get a snack in their rooms instead.
  • Day 2 to Day 4 San Pedro de Atacama - Daily excursions are available in the menu of excursions of the Hotel. Overnight.
  • Day 5 San Pedro - Tambo La Quesera - Departure to Argentina. High-attitude walk. Lakes, salt flats, volcanoes. Lodging at the Tambo La Quesera campsite at 3,500 meters high in Poma, Argentina, after passing Abra de Acay (4,895 meters high)
  • Day 6 Tambo La Quesera - Cachi - Explorations and high-altitude walks in the Poma area. Visit to Cachi. Overnight at the Houses of the Finca Rancagua Ranch.
  • Day 7 Cachi - Explorations by the Valleys Calchaquíes or a walk towards the Snow peak of Cachi. Overnight at the Houses of the Finca Rancagua Ranch.
  • Day 8 Cachi - Salta - Departure to Salta. Explorations in the Cuesta del Obispo (Bishop’s Slope). Arrival at Salta for the flight to Buenos Aires, or spend an extra night in Salta if interested in visiting the city. In this case, Explora will leave the guest in a hotel.
