The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), made up of seven emirates along the Persian Gulf, is a country of incredible contrasts where, for instance, in the desert you can traditionally camel trek or sand ski, in a city you can bargain for carpets or play a round of golf on a green surrounded by the sands: a fascinating mix of Bedouin and international life. The U.A.E. is one of the most pleasant places to travel in the Arab world, even for women.
