Venice & The Dalmatian Coast - 8D/7N
Our “Classic” Week-Long Exploration from Venice to Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast.
This is the classic Dalmatian Coast cruise, with itinerary options tailored to your preference by those who know the Dalmatian Coast best. (If you happened to miss it, Elegant Cruises was founded by a native of Dubrovnik.) In a week’s cruise in and out and among the wooded, walled, and fortified islands of the eastern Adriatic, we’ll be able to see the great highlights of the region – Venice, Split, Dubrovnik, Korcula, and Zadar – and explore them with the depth, sensitivity, and cultural enthusiasm that you can only get from local insiders. Our departures round trip from Venice additionally feature the phenomenal Roman ruins of Pula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a massive amphitheater just steps from where the Monet docks. Alternatively, our one-way cruises from Venice to Dubrovnik, or in reverse from Dubrovnik to Venice, additionally feature the tiny, wooded island of Mljet, where you’ll have the beautiful sight of a medieval monastery upon a charming islet in the middle of a lake; as well as the graceful and historic Stari Most bridge at Mostar in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
You will find the beautiful Dalmatian coast, and its historical coastal towns and islands breathtaking. Your week-long cruise conveniently begins and ends in Venice, where a full-day following embarkation provides time for optional excursions or for pursuing your own interests. In the evening, cruise slowly along the Canale della Giudecca past Piazza San Marco, setting a course for Croatia and its stunning coastal beauty. Dalmatia alone has over 1,000 islands basking in the sun that, along with the coastal cities of Croatia, offer a wealth of art, architecture, culture and history.

M.S. Monet: With just 31 outside cabins, the yacht-like Monet is the perfect size for calling at the small island ports and coastal towns of Dalmatia. With her shallow draft, Monet docks in places not available to larger ships. Guests enjoy friendly, professional service from our Croatian crew, excellent cuisine, educational shore excursions, and all the amenities that you would expect to find aboard such an elegant, small ship. From her classic teak decks one can take in the splendid Medieval and Renaissance cities while enjoying the pleasure of traveling without the hassles of packing and unpacking.
During your stay aboard the Monet, you’ll see exquisite scenery, enjoy folkloric performances and view the wonders of centuries past. There’ll be time to wander the cobbled streets of walled medieval towns, browse through attractive shops and swim in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. From the legendary Renaissance splendors of Venice — “the Queen of the Adriatic” — to the medieval walled city of Dubrovnik — “the Pearl of the Adriatic” — you’ll discover several millennia of history along the shores of this incredible azure sea. The Dalmatian coast alone has over 1,000 islands basking in the sun that, along with the coastal cities of Croatia, offer a wealth of art and architecture. Korcula contains reminders of the rule of the Venetians, while Split and Pula respectively offer some of the best preserved Roman edifices in existence: the massive Diocletian’s Palace and 20,000 — seat amphitheater designed to host gladiatorial contests. In Zadar, step ashore and visit the exceptional Museum of Church Art or the Archaeological Museum. Nature’s wonders can be appreciated in the magnificent Krka waterfalls near Sibenik, and the fissured limestone islands of the Kornati Archipelago.
