Welcome to Antarctica.
Antarctica and the Sub-Antarctic Islands are some of the last truly unspoilt regions of the world. The mysterious White Continent, possibly the coldest, driest, and windiest place on earth, with its multi-colored ice caps, glistening glaciers and towering snow-capped mountains, offers unparalleled scenery and photographic opportunities.
Join us on one of these exciting programs of voyages to the “White Continent”.
Classic Antarctica Cruises
Our Classic Antarctica cruises offer the ultimate introduction to the White Continent. Embarking and disembarking in the port of Ushuaia,
Argentina, they include many of the wildlife and scenic highlights of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands, areas rarely ice-bound during the southern summer. View all Classic Cruises
Antarctica Exploration Cruises
Our longer Exploration Cruises occur at the peak of the summer wildlife season. Bathed in long hours of daylight, the area will be erupting with wildlife activity. Millions of penguins gather to tend their fast-growing chicks; whales are seen in great numbers, seals haul out onto ice floes and beaches, and numerous albatrosses and other seabirds trail in our wake. We explore historic sites from the Heroic Age of early Antarctic exploration and visit scientists working in modern research bases. And there is plenty of time to enjoy the sheer beauty and the breathtaking scenery of ice-choked waterways, blue and white icebergs, impressive glaciers and rugged snow-capped mountains. Antarctica Ships
All vessels operating these adventure cruises have been especially selected and their ice-strengthened hulls, as well as their sophisticated communications and satellite equipment, make them extremely safe modes of transport in this remote corner of the world! We also win high praise for the quality of our accommodations. Whichever style of ship you choose for your adventure, you can count on a cabin that is comfortable and well appointed, with ample room to relax and read up on the journey ahead, plus plenty of intelligently designed storage - a must for expedition-style travel - and, of course, spectacular Antarctic views from every window.
All of our expeditions include international specialists on everything from polar exploration to Antarctic birds and marine life, providing the vital context and hands- on leadership you need to fully appreciate the Antarctic. Whether you’re sighting a whale from a Zodiac, walking a stretch of coast where few may have ventured before or watching from a helicopter as our powerful ship plows through the pack ice, you’ll experience the Antarctic as a complex, living environment with an overwhelming sense of remoteness that will stay with you forever. We hope you’ll join us for one of these unique Antarctic adventures!
Superb Food and Accommodations - A fundamental requirement of any polar expedition is eating well. And we can say with pride, reinforced by the consistent acclaim in our traveler questionnaires, that the food on Quark Expeditions ships is exemplary. From the professional kitchens of the Kapitan Khlebnikov and the expedition ships Lyubov Orlova and Sarpik Ittuk, to the ingeniously compact galleys of the three small ships - Professor Multanovskiy, Professor Molchanov, and Akademik Shokalskiy - our master chefs use the finest ingredients to create a varied international menu presented with imagination and flair.
